Been my favorite song by the Commander besides Lincoln. Been known to be singing it occasionally.

Did they do Panama red, or was the Dan Hicks and his hot licks?

I had always assumed that Bill Kirchen was in that band. Guess not, huh?

Ozone was/is very big album in my life. My first concert was CC in 1974 or 75 so I was 14 or 15. We were close to Bill Kirchen so it was my also my first look at a Telecaster. Great time.

Yes, Bill Kirchen was a founding member of Commander Cody. Had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Kirchen play in a small bar last year. Fantastic show!

I've seen him twice at small gigs and it's "too much fun." A monster player and a humble, friendly guy.

He was back in the day but I don't believe he tours with them now. At least he wasn't with them a few years ago last time I saw them live. They still tour, at least in these parts, pretty regularly.

Saw them around 1974. A good show and the Commander was “well in to his cups”, taking an occasional refreshing nap on the keyboard. Apparently that hot rod Lincoln DID drive him to drinking.
