Being vain, especially at an advanced age is really kind of pathetic. Age beats us all in the end, wear the badge, and don't fight it, you only look stupid if you try to. We used to have a guy where I worked that was grey to the point of being white headed, every once in a while he would die his hair and mustache jet black! You simply can't imagine the shock to everyone's system when he would suddenly appear all spruced up with the dye fresh as a daisy, acting for all the world as if everything was normal.

Decorating oneself is pretty normal though.

You could experiment with growing out neck and back hair and combing that over.
There's no shame in wanting to keep your preferred hairstyle as long as people cant tell you are faking it. I feel sorry for the guys under 40yo or anyone that don't want change forced upon them but have ran out of options. Options are available these days in most cases of thinning. Just be sensible about it and give it up if you are beyond being able to convincingly disguise the hair loss.

I like Tom Selleck and I like the series, Blue Bloods.
But Tom Selleck looks just dumb with his poorly dyed hair and mustache. What man in his 70’s doesn’t have one grey hair? It just looks so phony I’m surprised someone hasn’t stopped his drowning in “Just for Men.
I’m don’t know if it’s him or the make up director, but someone needs to reevaluate his hair color.

Yes; it was worth it; they don't do plugs anymore, now it's robotics, laser treatment, etc. And, you never lose the transplanted hair. Sell a couple guitars & go for it.

Ignore the beard, but the hairstyle could work.

There’s a pic. When it’s short it definitely looks, uh, thinner.

    It is what it is.

    Cheers

Hell yes! Seven grand is nothing compared to what women spend. If I lost my hair I would absolutely do that for a do over. What I wouldn't do is shave my head while I still had most of it like the OP sounds...

I just want to do a comb over for now until I get to the replacement stage, not a chrome dome. For me it would just be a comb back. So I just need to grow the top front long enough to comb straight back. When I'm invited over to @aerhed 's pool party and I emerge with the punk curtain over my face, I'll just toss my head back, and no one will know. I'll also go heavy on the Brylcreem.
