I'm building an 2x10 8ohm speaker cabinet for my Showman amp to try out and am considering combining the Eminence 10516 and a Celestion G10 Vintage in the cab.

Seeing as the Showman is an 85w amp, I don't believe I'll ever turn it past 3-4 for volume. Is there anything I need to look out for when combining these two speakers? Plan B for me was to just get two Eminence 10516's and call it a day... but where's the fun in that.

Is it crazy to even consider combining the speakers?

    They are both 16 ohm?
I'm not sure those are up to a Showman for very long.....

Both are 16ohm. The Emi is 75w and the Celestion is 60w. I will be wiring them in an 8 ohm cab.

The Showman is loud af for sure. I wouldnt run it full tilt but is it still an issue with having tiny speakers? I have my Mesa 5:25 plus for my “quiet” amp.

The G10 is 60? I was thinking of another Celestion I guess. Seems they ought to do ok then.

They have the G10 greenback which is a 25w. It’s the G10 Vintage I was looking at.

I’ve had the G10 Vintage in a Super Champ XD years ago. Great speaker... a bit darker for sure but it worked great with overdrive.

    I guess the G10's I had for a while were G10-35's.

There's a 3dB sensitivity (loudness) difference between those two speakers. That may or not make a difference to you. Celestion has some info on their website.
