I love college football, much more than the pros. I'm a big Nebraska fan, from Lincoln NE originally and hope the team under Frost will continue to improve this year. I also have some favorite teams in most conferences and there should be some good games this weekend to watch. GBR!!

I follow the money, my money. I sent $120,000 to Syracuse with my younger son. My wife and I went to a few football and basketball games each year to see my son and the other kids I was paying tuition for. My older son didn’t go to a football school until he did his PhD at Texas A&M. His tuition was covered and he had a small stipend but we still sent bags of money to College Station. Living isn’t cheap, even in Texas, especially when he had a fiancé at UNT also on stipend from JL_LI. We flew down for games at A&M too. Good teams but Syracuse has way cuter cheerleaders. I don’t know if I’ve been hooked, gigged, or gone Orange but my wife and I still watch all season long on TV.

Could you not make that statement about Penn State most years. Aren’t y’all otherwise known as linebacker U.

I remember that issue last year. This version of Bevo is a bit skiddish, from what I’ve heard.

Okie State is looking good against Oregon in the first half.

My #14 Utes took down BYU last night. Off to a great start. Rose Bowl, or better, here we come!

The ‘Horns are looking good tonight. I know the whine (I’ve heard it for the last 2 weeks) , “but it’s only La Tech”
They are a decent team and they love playing top tier teams. It only makes them better. Full respect to the team from Ruston.
If they beat us I’ll really feel useless, insignificant, & stupid

The Buffaloes ran over the Rams. A good start, but then PAC 12.

Well Syracuse went on the road and beat Liberty 24-0, their offense looked terrible but their defense looked very good. First game jitters for both teams. Now they travel again to Maryland who won 79-0 today against some guy named Howard. Trap game for Cuse as they have Clemson the week after that.

On another note my high school team just beat Don Bosco Prep (NJ) and Dematha (DC). They are just warming up. St. John Bosco

UCLA fan here, we laid a huge goose egg on Thursday. SO frustrating. We get Chip Kelly, suffer through last year, and we still stink?
Watching Oregon - Auburn right now, fun game.

I’m a fan of both MI teams but as an MSU alumni they get my allegiance and I bet on the Spartans in each years meeting between the two. I do like college ball but not the multitude of mismatches each season so only watch selected games. Missed MSU Friday because I didn’t see them during a quick search of TV listings and only watched the early part of U of M’s first game.

But I did catch Q4 of the Oregon vs Auburn game and THAT was worth seeing!

    Only game I watched.

The Huskers may have been over-rated. The offense looks kinda weak. Their star running back will probably be in jail soon. The QB isn't a great passer.

At least the Blackshirts are playing like Blackshirts this season.

The good news is that my son, who is now in his 2nd year of law school and I were at cool little dive in the lower Florida Keys having lunch, watching the game and sharing a few drinks - a great father & son opportunity in paradise.

The bad news was the game's final score.

Being from Iowa, I can see why that game interested you... LOL. I have to agree, Martinez looked flat, and actually is a great passer but you would have never known that yesterday and he was noticeably pensive in the run.. The O line was not up to task, we do have a freshman center so there, thats my excuse.. The D looked so-so in the first half missing many tackles like there was Teflon on the other teams jerseys, the second half was much better with 2 defensive touchdowns and much improved D line play..
I'm not worried, first game of the season and it's pretty well understood that teams have the biggest jump in improvment from game one to two. This week Colorado, that'll be a barn burner, just hope all the pieces are together for this one...

Cupcake week wasn't terribly enthralling. Very few worthwhile match ups.
