Alabama vs. SC - heavyweight battle. I think the best match will be UCLA vs Texas A & M - as evenly matched as could be and should be a good barometer for Pac 12 vs SEC

How do you figure that? UCLA is presently ranked [probably too high] at no. 16, and TAMU is not ranked at all. As a ranked team, UCLA would qualify as one of the top teams in the PAC, but TAMU is probably only the 4th or 5th best team in the SEC West. Extrapolated, TAMU might be the 7th or 8th best team in the SEC.

That game will not be a barometer of conference versus conference, but might tell us which team is over-rated or under-rated. The pollsters kept wanting to rank UCLA highly last year and they went 8-5 and barely had a winning conference record (5-4). We shall see if they are any better this year.

Just so you'll know, Vegas odds makers have Texas A&M winning this game...

Vegas weights the odds to get more bets and balance the book; in other words, they bait the trap to try to lure suckers and make money off of them.

I hope that TAMU wins, but I don't know if the pollsters got a year ahead of themselves and this year UCLA turns out to be good. We won't know until a game is played.

Sooooooo many interesting games! Not sure which one will be the best, but as far as which ones I'll definitely watch....

    Florida State vs Ole Miss

    USC vs Alabama

    Houston vs Oklahoma

    LSU vs Wisconsin at LAMBEAU!!!

I'd like to say Clemson vs Auburn, but I'm afraid my boys are gonna get worked by Dabo's squad.

One of the best weekends of college football I can ever recall--and on the opening weekend!!

    FOOTBALL!!!!!!

Something is wrong with the link I posted in the OP. This is an alternate:

    http://www.fbschedules.com/college-football-schedule/

The NCAA is following the NFL's lead and trying to expand the brand value of college ball. Cal and Hawaii played in Australia and Boston College and Georgia Tech are playing in Ireland. I am surprised that the administrators are OK with the players being away so long (but then I recall it is about the money and I come back to my senses). The BC-Tech game starts at 7:30 am, so it will take eager people to watch that one.

Saturday will be busy with the OU-Houston game at noon, then the TAMU-UCLA game and the LSU-Wisconsin game overlapping at 3:30, then the Georgia-UNC game at 5:30, then Bammer-USC at 8 PM, and ClemPson-Auburn at 9 PM.

Tennessee is the luckiest team in the country today, and Appy State the least lucky. UT is lucky and AS is unlucky for the same reason, and that is that Appy State does not have a good kicker. He missed a PAT and two field goals in regulation time and left 7 points on the field. Then, UT got lucky again in OT and Hurd recovered Dobbs' fumble into the endzone.

UT will not be in the top 10 in week 2. It remains to be seen how good the team is, but the linemen got pushed around a good bit by Appy State and that will have to be corrected before SEC play or else.

I may live in Ohio, but GO BUCKS!! In reality, I'm getting sick of athletes and some sports in general. College football is barely keeping my attention anymore and this year may finally erase my interest in it. Pro football is dying for me, maybe it's time to find another interest during the autumn months.
