Well, FSU lost its first game of the season in an unusual way. Apparently, Jimbo Fisher never showed footage from the Bammer-Auburn game of the "kick six." Tech hung in there well with a number 9 team after losing 5 in a row, including losses to some cupcakes.

Tennessee played Bammer better than most thought they would. Perhaps Bammer was thinking about the upcoming game against LSU.

Miami pleased me by losing 58-0 on Saturday. Was Nevin Shapiro cheering for ClemPson? The coaching carousel turned and Al Golden was thrown off last night.

George O'Leary, famous for a resume flub that cost him the Notre Dame job, resigned/retired in the middle of the season at Central Florida. He is a pretty good coach and had done some good things for the program. But he might be caught in a new problem and trend for coaches in that their method and system is fresh and effective for a few years after arrival but stale and dormant thereafter. And the current crop of players are different from young men 30 years ago, perhaps in such a bad way that a coach cannot maintain influence as long as a coach could in the past.

Utah got pounded fairly badly by an inconsistent USC team. I was pulling against USC.

Yeah, that effort put them back 10 notches on the polls...

It is time for The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, FL. I expect that Florida is going to cream Georgia this year.

Curious to see if Temple can hang in there against Notre Dame tomorrow night.

Well, they made it to 6-0 before losing one...
Whittingham may not be Meyer, but they are on the right track.

Ohio State does not look like a number 1 team and still has to play MI and MI State. Then there is a conference championship. So yes, there is still a strong chance it will lose one.

The first round of playoff rankings came out this week. I did not foresee ClemPson as no. 1.

But things will change next week, perhaps dramatically. ClemPson and FSU play Saturday afternoon and Bammer and LSU, both in the top 4, play Saturday night. Those two games should make for a good day of football.

I predict that FSU and Bammer win in those two games.

It's not an emotional response stemming from rivalry, it's just that it's ClemPson, and dey gonna do what dey gonna do.

Unfortunately, Richting is a synonym for Clemsoning these days.

    Clemsoning

The act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season.

I thought all Georgia boys were a little biased towards Clemson. If you never seen this it is one of Wilson's funniest moments.

I certainly don't love or like ClemPson, but Georgia does not play them as frequently as it did in prior decades (due in part to new conference alignments) and they have not been that good, so they've become somewhat irrelevant. Clempson is geographically close to UGA, perhaps a little closer than Tech, and that accounted for a good part of the rivalry.

I did not get to watch much of the Baylor/KSU game, but with the starting QB out, KSU challenged them and Baylor scored less than usual. Bill Snyder is a good coach and one should expect him to have his team playing well against a top 10 conference opponent.

Miss. State beat Mizzou but the Tigers found a way to put some points on the board after a long, dry spell.

    Bring on Clempson/FSU and Bammer/LSU!

Yep my school had me worried there for the first half, but Dak pulled it out in the second half.

The expansion in the Big Ten has really diluted the competition. The Wisconsin Badgers have played against 2 good teams in 10 games this season, & they no longer play Ohio State, Michigan & Michigan State every year.

An increased cost of tickets and Cable TV costs combined with a lower quality product is not impressive.

If the Badgers played in the SEC would they be 4-6? 6-4? I have no idea!!!!!

    Probably 4-6.
