Just a reminder friends to honor the person, and leave the polarity that often accompanies her profession out of it.

Always liked her work, good insights, and she could tie things together. Have listened to her since she began her career.

    She will be missed.

    RIP Cokie.

She was a great one, no BS, no scandal, no partisanship, just the facts right over the plate.

    RIP Cokie

When I saw the news popup, I reached to make a screen-cap and post here, but said to myself "who posts newscaster obits in a guitar forum?"
I'm glad OP didn't ask that question and gave some of us a change to acknowledge a journalist we liked.

    Peace - Deeve

I’m actually broken hearted and I don’t usually feel that way about journalists. She was a consummate professional.

I think one of the most interesting segments I ever watched was with Cokie and Robin Roberts (also of ABC.)

The segment had to do with their family history and their interactions. It seems that at a point in the 1800's, Cokie's family OWNED Robin's family. Over the years post civil war, the families stayed kind of involved and they discussed how they worked through all (as we might imagine) the complications of that.

It was a really compelling piece that my family still discusses from time to time as we were used to seeing both on tv regularly. The years when Cokie was on the one show with Sam Donaldson and George Will were kind of a golden age of rational discussion and reparte... and missed!

She always struck me as a good person... I'm gonna go with that.
