This followed my DW home from the thrift store. I have a four-year-old granddaughter who really likes the guitar but they're to big for her and she isn't very careful yet. This is a 3/4 size from some factory overseas. It was strung up with 11s or 12s, really old ones. The neck was bowed forward and the bridge screws were backed all the way out to lower the action enough to compensate for the FUBAR neck.

I removed the strings, adjusted the truss rod, set the saddles, put on new strings, and did a quick setup on it. The tuners are junk (as expected) but it is actually playable now. Fun little Friday project.

It looks a lot like my #1 (which I won't let her touch) so she'll be stoked to jam together!

Single pup guitars are either $100 or $1000 lol. That thing is just begging for a Super Distortion :p.

I thought that shorter scale guitars required heavier guage strings to get the same tension. Won't 8's on a 3/4 scale feel very sloppy? Or have I got it the wrong way around?

    Nice colour though.

They don't feel excessively sloppy to me. Anyway, she has little, delicate fingers and 8s is what I had laying around so, there you go!

That's a great find for that purpose. I did something similar with a small (smaller than 3/4 I think) Kay.

Looks awesome. She is gonna dig it.

I have a granddaughter turning four in a couple of weeks. Now you’re just making me feel inadequate. :D

I’ve got this little, single humbucker blue guitar, Dan. I’ll make you a great deal…

I’d make the trade in a heartbeat, but I already have a single pickup guitar, and you already have a 4 year old granddaughter.

Wait, that is what we’re talking about here, right?

    I get so confused…
