Dad EJ26 11-52s on my Eastman travel guitar 23.5" scale.
Noticed that the 12th fret high E harmonic sounded clunky while the 7th and 19th sounded fine.
Thought things would settle in but not happening.
I just put a new E (.011) EJ26 on and all is good.

Any one have the same experience?
    No luck from Google.

Yep...sometimes you just get a bad string. A slight kink in it can affect the vibration.

You did the right thing by swapping out the iffy string for another one.

Thanks. It looked fine but guess bet those vibrations have to be pretty pure for a harmonic.
    Lesson learned
