I have an 05' that i bought new for $99, one thing is that it has tone control instead of volume. Factory mix up? I like it anyway!

I purchased a sunburst model about a month ago on Reverb.com but I actually wanted a vintage blonde one. I just sold my sunburst and would like to purchase a blonde one. If anyone has one for sale, let me know here. Thanks.

My Squier Vintage Modified 51. These were fantastic if you got the right one (quality control a bit hit and miss). My son bought it for me for £80 - the upgrades cost a lot more:facepalm:. The neck on this is one of the nicest feeling F style necks I've ever played 10 year on and its still one of my favorite guitars for home use. That last comment may sound snobbish but I don't use it live mainly because if anything happened to it Its next to impossible to replace now.

    Basswood Body
    Vintage Tinted Maple Telecaster Neck
Vintage Tinted Maple Fingerboard with dot inlays
    Vintage Kluson Style Machineheads
    21 Medium Frets
    25 ½” Scale Length
    9 ½” Neck Radius
    P Bass Style Tortoiseshell Pickguard
    GFS Vintage 59 Bridge Humbucker
GFS Vintage 64 Neck Singlecoil Pickup
Volume with Pull, Push Coil Tap & 3 Position Switch
Wilkinson Compensated 3 Saddle Hardtail Bridge
    Vintage Blonde

Picked up this dusty old gal tonight for a cool $60... previous owner performed a pickup swap/mod with a Duncan bucker, a push/pull, and a toggle.

With the exception of some dust and a few minor things, its in remarkable shape. I have a little work to do, but overall I think its fab...

Dusty has a twin, Sasha. Also a black tux. She was born in 2005. All stock, no mods that I can see. I purchased her 2 days ago, Craigslist. 1507498330186.jpg 1507498337416.jpg

I apologize for the sideways photos. They are correct on my phone, but uploaded this way.

I haven't been on this forum in a long time, but I scored this early run 51 for $50 recently and it warrants visiting here. I was going to overhaul it. It was a mess. I cleaned it up, polished and dressed the frets, and lacquered the guard and headstock. It plays and sounds fantastic and I'm leaving it stock.

Sorry, here it is. Both the guard and headstock are silver sparkle. I'm going to find an artsy way to get a 51 on the headstock, similar to some I've seen here.

I'd love to see a close up of the silver sparkle guard and headstock.

sure. Here goes. I misspoke when I said lacquer. And I knew it. It's automotive paint, which I find quite useful. But it hasn't been lacquer for years, I'm sure.

    Gorgeous! Good score.
I’m not 100% convinced I could live with the ‘51 controls but they have such a great vibe — I’d love to get hold of one someday.

I'm debating on either painting the pickguard or finding one. I was debating on a dark, midnight blue.

Nice... As for pickguards, I'm toying with having a Decoboom guard made for my 51. Haven't decided on a pattern yet.

    Gabrielle,

Did you buy your 51 from a guy in Andover named Jeff? Selling a bunch of Squiers?
