I just bought a TC Electronics Polytune clip on tuner. I have two others, a Korg and a Fishman. I don’t like the Korg, slow and not very precise just adequate. I like the Fishman okay, faster and more accurate than the Korg, but bland color on the display. I like the Polytune best, fast and very accurate and bright colors on the display.

    Any opinions?

I buy Snark Supertights by the handful. That's not because they break; it's because I lose them faster than picks, or give them away as a hint. :)

My clip on tuner is a Reverb.com-branded one they had a special deal on a while ago — I think I paid £2 or £5 for it. It works fine.

I just got a Joyo Cobra, rechargable, nice clear large display, liking it well so far.

Another TC Polytune clip on owner here. I use it for my acoustic and mandolin. I use the Polytune 3 pedal for my electrics. They are both fantastic. Wouldn't use anything else.

Can't say I've tried the TC, but for ten dollars more, the Peterson StroboClip HD runs rings around the handful of $10 clip-ons I own and my old Sabine ST1100s.

No reason to pay $$$ these days, most 5$ clip ons work fine.

Standard Snarks. I had a Supertight but the damn thing ran thru batteries like crazy. I liked having it on my viola...but switched back to standard.

I have a bunch of different ones, when I was teaching camps, they usually gave a tuner to faculty members...free is good.

D'Addario Mini.....they're accurate, quick reacting, reliable, and hide BEHIND the headstock. I have about six of them so they can simply live on my guitars AND basses. Here's one. red grote 099.JPG

That's interesting. I had one that ate batteries too, but the last 5 or so have been like the standard Snark. I really like the more accurate tune of the ST, but I've certainly used plenty of SS over the years.

Love the Supertight Snarks-----never had one that ate batteries. I also have given several away, makes jams and practice sessions so much quicker and it sure sounds better when everyone's in tune! I buy them in two packs.

    Snark works for me.
Fortunately my dog stopped eating them.

I have Snarks, but I'm getting the Boss TU-3 itch because sometimes my chords sound weird even if the Snark says I'm in tune.
The Snark allows you to make a few degrees adjustment before it goes to the next bar, that's how I can describe it. It seems like a lot of variance to still be in tune.

I have a snark clip-on tuner, the white one, whatever model that is. It has a nice bright display. It does go through batteries like crazy, though.

I have a love-hate thing with those tuners. I prefer the look of pedalboard tuners, because I don't have anything clipped to my headstock like a dork. However, with my eyes as bad as they are, I can barely see a pedalboard tuner without leaning over to look at it, and the clip-on tuners are readable all the time.

I’ve used a tc polytune & tc unitune. I never used the “poly” function, prefer the strobe mode. & it’s cheaper!

I have a pair of the daddario minis left I just can’t find em! They are discreet, hide behind the headstock and are accurate. I can see them in the dark when I need to but I can’t find em when they are off the guitar. Like Matty K USA, I lose those little tuners like picks. And my dog likes them too. He chewed the door of one when I set down the battery door to open a new pack of batteries. Got it from him but it was too late. Great tuner though thinking of buying more.
