Cleaning the dust off pedals?

Anyone hate trying to clean some dust off the top of a pedal? It's cake until you get to the knobs. There's often too little room to get between them to get rid of the dust. Anyone have any tricks they'd like to share?

Dust creates a vintage look that commands 15% more money on the used market.
Although, compressed air does work to clean them off...

Q-Tips work for me. Use them with a little Windex if you have to.

A vaccum cleaner.

Little soft bristle brush like a toothbrush and air compressor. Use a real air compressor. Those stupid cans of compressed air are a waste of money cause they don't work.

Oh and any residue from things like stickers or rubber feet or really anything else can be taken off with naphtha. AKA zippo lighter fluid!

Once a month I remove all of my pedals from my board and dip them in a big bucket of water with OxiClean and Listerine (with a little bit of lemon zest added). Hose 'em down on my patio and sun-dry them before putting them back on my board. Clean, sparkly and ready for my next gig.

Does this work for marker too? Previous owner of my CE-2 got a bit creative with it.

Direct from the 'Ounce of Prevention' dept....

I just mount the pedal box bottoms on my board w/ Elmer's Glue, carefully cut holes for in, out, and power, then drop the pedals back into the box...remove tops to play, return the tops to keep that nasty dust from caking between the knobs...

Nah, I get where he's coming from. If I'm very busy working I don't have time to play for awhile, dust does collect on the gear. Nothing wrong with dusting it off... a little dusting now negates wiping with windex later. No different than dusting your music room, or any room in your house... you guys DO clean your houses, right? Right?

If you have enough dust, you don't need velcro...the weight will keep them in place.
