False alarm...the Victoria store doesn't have any in stock, just on order :(

Any other Canadians have any success with this? L&M has 0 chain-wide, and nobody else I've talked to has any, either.

I had the chance to a/b my 2007 MIM against a friend's Classic Vibe today. If I hadn't caught the new sunburst MIM on sale for $319. I would have been ticked off. The CV is a lot of guitar for $299. I liked the hue of the CV neck better but not the heavy Poly(?) finish on the back. I also believe the frets were finished better on the CV and the control knobs/pots were more easily controlled by offering slightly more resistance to their turning. The vintage bridge and brass saddles offered just slightly different spacing than the individual saddles on my Mexican. Action and general playability seemed about the same in the limited time I had.

I would buy a CV in a heartbeat over a retail priced MIM. My .02 for what it's worth.

The Victoria store had one and I bought it. But I had to return it the next day because the bridge pickup died!!

Does that mean I had the first one in Canada!! I doubt it. But it sounds like I maybe had the first one from an L&M.

Nothing in the Vancouver (or any lower mainland) store but their computer lists two in Victoria. The sales person I talked to had no idea about the CVs and indicated none were even on order...

No, I didn't raise my action. Its the factory setup, and its just an optical illusion as it is a lot lower than it looks there. The hangtag on mine said something like 1.5mm on low E and 1.0mm on high E, and that looks about right to me. The neck does have a little bow, which adds about 0.5 mm or so by the time it gets to the 21st fret, but I really can't tell much difference on the higher frets. (I'm using the stock strings still, so when I eventually change them I may tweak a little bit).

L&M is ordering 10 chain-wide. There are 38 stores (or so?) and Victoria had three on order. Crazy stuff! I'll have to pick one up from somewhere...

Well...I'm four days away from officially joining the club, just ordered through MF. I got a $25 off coupon in the mail today and with 12 months same as cash financing...even my wife said "duh ! what are you waiting for !?".

This should be cool, I just sold my Dot 335 and old 62RI strat - I kept my Gibson LP, but wanted a nice maple board axe for quick jams.

    Thanks gang !

    I'll post pictures this weekend

MF never says. Could just be a return; someone wanting to check it out. Maybe the customer had no intention of ever keeping it.

I also saw a MIM Baja scratch and dent recently, $ 607 I think. I would not try that, it is so certain to be a heavyweight one, based on what we know.

I do know that my Gibson GA-5 'blem' was perfect, as was my MIM Palo Escrito Telecaster 'blem'. Just returns, people sampling products who don't mind the hassle ( to me, at least ) of shipping the things back to MF.

It looks like they are in the UK now. I ordered mine today and it should be with me Thursday.
I hope it lives up to the hype!

If they're in the UK now they should be in other EU countries as well. What company did you order it from?

    Thanks!

No you are not seeing double these are 2 (two) Classic Vibe Telecasters delivered today at my door in Holland (as ordered).
They were supposed to arrive mid September from Thomann Cyberstore Germany, but it was a very early Christmas today.
I add some pics of this stampede, also consisting of a nice tweed case for a ridiculous small amount of money and a funny lap steel.
Hail Thomann, and hail the Classic Vibe.
One of these Classic Vibes is going into the case and will be put under my 16 years old son's bed for the next 50 years.
That is a.o. my present to him for graduating from junior high.
And when I am long dead and gone.........
I would like to apply for a double membership..
