Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum
He allegedly used a Tele w/ a built in fuzz!
Think of any others?

During the "Let It Be" sessions, George was using his rosewood Tele a lot, so you can take your pick. The one that leaps to my mind is...well, "Let It Be." Nice solo, with the ash tray cover on, no less.

Then there's Springsteen, and you can just about take your pick there as well. "Born to Run," "Born in the USA," etc.

I love that Rory Gallagher clip. The band is tight and Rory's in the zone.........what a monster performer he was! I like the parts where he sings harmony with the Tele.

Wow! Real tight - - He IS the Zone!
Can you see his amp?

Looks like he has more than one, but my amp knowledge is limited, so I'm not sure what kind of set-up he has.

This clip is from 1976 (March 2nd, to be exact. Rory's 28th birthday.), so it was when he was using Fender amps. Probably a Bassman and a Twin linked together, and a Hawk booster.

Rory was probably one of the best live performers ever. Wish he was still around and cranking it up.

I saw him around '74 or so - had a 4x10 Bassman, cranked. I couldn't tell if he had a booster. But he came out, played a long descending scale at top volume - my friend and I looked at each other in shock! Small club too- I was right on top of him.The next week,he was sitting across the table from me at an Electric Flag show(Mike Bloomfield was incredible). I told the waitress to give him a beer, then he bought me one & we had a toast!

Gallagher is the absolutely best live act I've ever seen! When the band took a break he gave us an "unplugged" show whit mandolin and Dobro and steel string. So sadly missed.

And he also shared birthday with Curt Weil, Lou Reed, Bon Jovi and.....me!
