I have a Tele (1980s Tokai Breezysound TE120) with a P90 in the neck position, but I'm not keen on the black pickup cover.

The P90 is a Seymour Duncan SP90-1n Vintage P90. I did find a chrome-effect P90 cover on eBay, but it doesn't fit. Does anyone know where I can get a chrome effect cover that will fit? And if you have one, please post a pic of your Tele with metal P90 cover.

If I can't get a suitable chrome cover, I might have to try white instead. Does anyone know of a good place to buy P90 covers that fit Duncan P90s? Preferably in the UK or Europe if possible.

    Thanks.

Montreux makes a polished stainless steel cover, but it's way pricey. I know Kent Armstrong makes chrome P-90 covers that should fit. I'm putting a chrome P-90 in the neck slot of my Tele custom....

I've seen dog-ear chrome covers but not soap-bar. I'd like to find some chrome soap-bar covers, though.

I guess the WD - UK equivalent would be:

    http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/P90_PICKUP_COVER_CHROME_PCP90CR

which is currently out of stock. I have sent WD (UK) an e.mail asking if the cover fits an SD P90.

Which was the point of my original post really. I know there are some metal P90 covers available, but the one I bought doesn't fit the SD P90, so I thought I would ask on here to see if anyone knows of a cover that will definitely fit.

Well nobody could fault WD on the speed of their response! Unfortunately it wasn't any help:

"Unfortunately I do not know if the cover will fit on the Duncan vintage P-90... best bet would be to check the measurements of our cover against your pickup to see if it will fit:

85.3mm x 34.6mm total length and width. 16mm depth. 49mm centre to centre of the two outer polepieces (low E to high E). P-90 cover inner measurements: 80mm x 30mm"

So I'm no nearer to finding out if it will fit or not!:rolleyes:

sure you are. Just email those measurements over to Seymour Duncan customer service, they'll tell u if that's okay or not.

From experience, the WD dogear covers (think, Epi casino) do NOT fit S-D P90s - the size is OK, but the pole piece spacing is off (wider bridge/narrower neck as I recall - the S-D spacing was the same for both pups). I bought some and had to file the polepiece holes to match the S-D Antiquities that I had. Works, but it's not elegant... Should be easier with the plastic soapbars than it was with the metal dogears.

It's a guitar I built a long time ago from Ancient Kauri wood, shaped like a Ric 360. I had it in that configuration for a couple years but never really liked it so I did a complete reno on it.

    It now looks like this.

I ended up switching out the P90s for a couple H/B's with coil cutting switches. I like it a lot better now, both visually and tonally.
