I hate it. Always have. My 1998 Hot Rod DeVille has it. I want to change it. There's a 'bay listing for a white-on-black decal overlay.
Anyone use it? Anyone just replace the chrome panel altogether?

I don’t have one, but it’s one of those thing that looks good until you have to use it...kinda like health insurance.

If it's a '98, it's made in the USA. Be thankful; the Mexican ones are crap.

Is that why they are on IV and not still on III? I have no clue as I've never played on any HRDV other than my modded one. I do know the inputs are off-set now from my USA model.

They are literally the exact same. Same boards, same everything.

    If it's a 98 it's due for a good service as well.

I have the 4x10 version of the same amp, about the same year. Not long after I got it I noticed the legibilty problem, same as you are expetiencing. Back then, someone on EBay was offering overlays in a white on black format. I got one of those and have been happy ever since. But it's been so long ago that I've lost all the contact data.
ps: I just looked, and it's still available, for $24.50.

LOSTVENTURE that is exactly the one I saw and am talking about. Since you put it on has any if it scratched off or bubbled up or whatever? Seriously wanting to pull the trigger and get one.
Also the listing has a trimmed one for applying by just taking the knobs off, and one for unscrewing the plate then applying it so that it tucks under the amp's covering. When you did yours, which did you use?
And yes my 98 bought new by me in 98 may in fact need some servicing.
