I like some instrumental Christmas music and some newer
but occasionally the traditional song by different artists.

I only listen from about now (18Dec through 25Dec).

I spent too many years working retail to get myself through school. Christmas music is like Chinese water torture now.

I like the Jazz holiday standards as well as other traditional Christmas tunes. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” has a nice chord progression.

Except for Vince Guaraldi’s Christmas Time Is Here, y’all can have Christmas music.

    I love the classics.

    Dino
    Bing
    Ella
    Frank

That era. Can’t wait for thanksgiving and the green light from the family to flip it on.

Songs SWUNG then. Even hokey ones. And singers could SING.

I just like it in small doses, though I love to play instrumental Silent Night,
and sing "Please Come Home for Christmas" and " Run, Run, Rudolph"

    This is my Christmas song.

Melancholy, beautiful, sad, and reminiscent of my childhood in the 1960's.

    I'm gonna shut up now.

There is an Alligator Records album called House Rockin Christmas. Various blues artists, all original tunes, some great guitar work and great singers. The whole record rocks, its great. It has become my favorite Christmas record. Check it out if you get the chance.

I never really listened to much in the past, but the last few years sometimes I'll tune in an all Christmas song radio station and listen when I'm in the car.

i'd imagine most of us find stuff like "row row row your boat," "itsy bitsy spider," and "mary had a little lamb" annoying but somehow the same types of songs with lyrics about christmas are perfectly fine for people. i don't get it.

Ditto on the Guaraldi album, drove the kids around tonight looking at lights and played it straight through twice. Just for fun, found this earlier in the month, Drifters' version is one of my wife's faves but these guys did it justice, IMO:

I’d like some Stoner/Doom Metal Christmas music. St. Vitus should cut a Christmas album.

Same story here. But I've learned to tolereate it again. Because the rest of the family listens, plays and sings christmas music. So I just stand back, but won't destroy their joy.

I'm good with it from Thanksgiving week through Christmas.
