Over the past couple months I have been organizing and cleaning my stash of salvaged amp parts. I noticed that my supply of 12AX7 tubes and Noval sockets is nearly depleted.

    ....Then I find this!

    969D9DEC-99D6-47A0-8595-C58EE9BF1452.jpeg

25+ 12AX7’s, 30+ 12AU7’s, a pair of 6L6’s and a 5U4GB. Also a pair of 12” AlNiCo Cleveland speakers and some nice grill cloth from front and back.

I see a 30 watt something in my future!

I have two or three of those Baldwin amps sitting around. The chassi are sort of an odd size and shape, aren’t they? All of the tone section tubes are in boxes.

And...that power tranny is large for using in a guitar amp, imho....

Sorted out the wiring harness that I cut out. Just the really good stuff is....Left to right, cloth covered solid, 1, 2, 3, and 4 conductor shielded, and cloth covered stranded.

Rather than all black jumpers as my last 3 builds had, my next few builds will have color coded wire!!!

    * A friend of mine manages the county dump (this find).
    * Not ashamed to pick junk off the curb and my friends let me know if they see stuff.
    * Found a few things on Craigslist.

Stripped it down today and got a pile of 4-12” pieces of cloth wire in a rainbow of (faded) colors.

Here’s the innards of the amp...

    Holy crap!
What model? Can you post a picture of the front? I'm a Craigslist scavenger too, and I need to keep an eye out for this one.

Don’t remember the the model number but it was a Baldwin Organosonic.

I’ve scrapped a couple others that had the same name plate but the guts were different. Those were model 54’s. They did not have the tube driven tone generators but have a great tube amp section with a dual amp... one section powered by 4-6bq5’s and the other powered by 2-6bq5’s.

I found a 60's "magnus" organ for aroung 20 bucks. It had 25 phillips branded mullards 12ax7 in it. I'm set for life...

I once met someone that was born on christmas eve so I just had to ask the question we all wondered about: "admit that you got less birthdaypresents than your siblings" ANd yes, that was the case...
