Mystified is a pretty obscure song by Fleetwood Mac, but it is one of my favorite Christine compositions. I will miss her voice and especially her awesome keyboard playing! :( :(

Obviously, Peter Green is #1, original iteration of the band. But after that, Christine is the one. Many were oblivious, but I feel that her compositions and her instrumental contributions and especially her voice and phrasing, sold the records and got the later versions of the band all the acclaim they enjoyed. Quirky Buckingham, a respectable #2 and what band accomplishes much without a quality rhythm section, yes.

Nicks' contribution is equivalent to Davy Jones, in the Monkees. Get certain lovelorn would be fans hooked, I suppose. I'd be harsher with Nicks, but if Ms. McVie was willing to be in a band with her, Nicks can't possibly be quite as bad as I see her to be. I'm willing to admit, it really pissed me off, the way Christine would be overlooked.

Christine McVie was able to convey genuine, authentic thoughts and feelings in her lyrics, which is something that eluded Welch, Buckingham and Nicks. She came across as a person who lived a real life and had real feelings and emotions. Which was the whole reason for the band that Peter started. Not smoke and wizardry and that kind of thing.

All my life I've been a musical numb-butt (football allusion, a center), so although I've always enjoyed their music, I've never really known the ins and outs of Fleetwood Mac and its members. It's clear, though, that Christine McVie was a key part of their long success. RIP ma'am.

I remember reading an article, a number of years ago, describing Christine McVie as "the smart girl in school." I could not disagree.

Since her passing, I haven't seen that Chevy commercial with "Everywhere" playing and people in their Chevys singing along out of tune. It was one of my favorite commercials, just because of the song. I suppose Chevrolet pulled it out of respect.

Christine already made her money off that song when she sold her catalog a year or two ago.

I'm no huge fan of Stevie, but comparing her to Davy Jones??? Ridiculous statement. She wrote quite a few of Fms hits plus her solo career was successful.
I disagree. Jones was a respectable member of that band and did sing at least some of the hit songs. With all due respect, you've just got too low an opinion of Jones.

I've been known to pick on Roger Waters (in the past) and don't give Mike Love much credit or respect, but honestly, these a professional musicians all. They all reserved some limelight - we're really talking about how much.

And besides, Jones' voice never made me cringe - Nicks' surely does, much of the time.

I respect differing opinions, but "Silver Springs" melts my heart everytime. She knows heartbreak and betrayal.

I think from both sides... which is even more powerful. The person who has been wronged knows a self righteous outrage that is powerful, but if the also know the duplicitous side, it brings a temper to the emotion that is not so brittle.

Yes. One can sense just that in the looks Stevie and Lindsey exchange in the video I shared. It makes the performance all the more powerful.
