The Mooer Elec Lady might also suit a user looking for that sort of chorus sound, it's a clone of the standard not the deluxe electric mistress though. They were super hot for Gilmourish chorusy flanging for a few years and I think now are maybe around for $50.
I bought one and don't use it but it's pretty nice for what it is.

So I'm down to the Boss CE2w, Boss CE-5 and MXR Analog Chorus. My local GC has the CE5 used for $45 and a new MXR for $99.

I do like the ability to control bass and treble, having already owned the AC but was using it with my Marshall JCM900 before I sold it.

I appreciate the opinions and input guys.

To me, that’s a no-brainer. I got my CE-5 for a similar deal about 3-4 years ago and haven’t found a fault in it yet. At that price, even if you didn’t love it, you could get your money back and try something else. Either way, happy hunting.

I’d buy the CE5 on principal for that price. Mine cost me 51 bucks and has a broken LED :( I don’t like the MXR Analog Chorus.

Pick up the CE5 and, if you don’t like it, return it and get a CE2W.

If it is, I can't get the sounds out of it, and I've spent 3 months trying. It's way too dark.

I think any chorus can do a passable subtle chorus, because, well, it's "subtle". Differences in chorus for me are measured when levels are more pronounced. That said, I have always liked the sounds Scofield got with his Ibanez chorus (CS9?). The "mini" version sounds pretty good, too.

So buy the real deal for $50 less. Chasing perceived improvements is what lead him to this dilemma to start with.

This is true, but I also sold it because I had paid $130 for it and doubled my money in 10 mins of my reverb listing going live.

I have a CE2B bass chorus, which works really well with guitar. It's supposedly a CE2 with a mix knob. The closest thing I've heard is the Retrosonic chorus.

I absolutely love my Danelectro 18v Cool Cat! I hear it’s based on the CE-2. Super lush and processed sounding which I love! I should get a CE-2W.

I have a Keeley modulation pedal that is okay but nothing to write home about. The best one I ever had was a mid-90s Boss (CE2?).
I have a cheap Donner delay that is better than my Catalinbread Belle Epoch. Go figure. I’ve owned the Carbon Copy, Flashback, DM Waza to name a few.
It’s okay because I rarely use modulation.

I have owned lots over the years even the much coveted greybox Arion SCH-1 but i think the plastic RockTek Chr-01 pedal is the best chorus I've ever used:

I had one. A pretty good pedal imo, especially for the price.

I'd get the ehx reissue if I were doing it again.
