For my song catalog and style, chorus all the way. I don't like flangers...phasers are cool but I'd only use it on 2-3 tunes. Chorus I use often. But I would probably choose the Carl Martin Chorus XII, because it's a "two channel" chorus -- with switchable rates of depth and rate. I keep one side at a gentle setting that I use a lot, and the other at a wild setting that's almost like a vibrato. Works for me!

YES! I have the XO version and absolutely love it. I owned the old giant boat anchor in the wooden box and find I'm just as happy with this version. It's creamy enough to get chorus-y, and sounds great with distortion.

My favorite is my EH Bad Stone phase shifter. My go to in many situations

    Phase Shifter, every time.

    Love phaser...like flanger...detest chorus...

Is this like an effects pedal version of “Marry/Shag/Kill”?

If I could have only one it would be phaser -- chorus -- flanger in that order. IRL, if I could only have one modulation pedal for a small board I'd get one that could do all 3.

Playing covers? Get a multi-efx. Country? Phaser. Rock? Flanger. Pop and pop-versions of x? Chorus.

Personally, I like harmonic tremolo best. Flint.

I need chorus...and flange and phaser. I’d probably go with a Bad Stone. You can get some cocked wah/filter type effects in manual mode.

    Going with chorus-ish...
Although I have a Stereo Electric Mistress (the "-ish"), I rarely use it and, in fact, have little use for any of those pedals. So why do I keep it around? Because it is a decent pedal for when it is needed, and keeping a little-used pedal is more practical than buying a new one.

My MXR Micro Flanger can do phaser and chorus tones along with a classic flanger sound. At least they’re close enough for my ears.

MXR Phase 95. Four classic phasers in one, and it is a very small box.

Of the three I would also choose a chorus.

I used phaser a good bit in my country band days because Waylon.

I like chorus because I like what Mike Stern does with it, heard him many times when I lived in DC, went to one of his clinics at the Smithsonian, spoke with him a few times at Blues Alley. Very friendly and seemingly happy guy.

These days I like a verb with the fancy features to get that “3D” thing. (Sorry)

But I still have a chorus and phaser on the shelf.

Of the pedals I have, believe it or not, but chorus is more convincing in a live band setting. Phasers and flangers sound great, but wash out for me in a band setting. I get compliments on the chorus I've got setup. I'd like to have all three. Its on the list..

Mad Professor Double Moon comes with Choruses, Flangers and Vibrato. Smallish, analog, pricey.

For a small board, I'd do a Univibe.
