Never had any problems with it... Looks pretty and does the job! Luckily I don't need it any lower as you'd have to file the grooves to do that...

That is one fine looking guitar! Love that color, and the grain.

It's a good idea, but once you learn to properly adjust slot height of the nut, and have the tools to do so, I don't really see the need. Interesting concept though.

Another thing that comes to mind is lubricating the nut. With bone, once you lubricated a bone nut, since bone is porous, you probably don't really need to do so, and the nut remains slick. Plastic, I'm not sure of, but a little dab of pencil lead seems to fix them too. With metal, I would think lubrication might be a problem. Maybe not though. I've never seen one so I don't know if that's a factor or not.

Just to get a jump on the thread though when it goes south, I'd like everyone to know that there is a rumor that owning one or more adjustable nuts can be deleterious to one's love life, or on the other hand it might enhance it.

I looked at your "More pics" and saw that you did an EXCELLENT job of fabricating & installing that brass-plate shielding assembly into the body cavities. Nice work!

I think it's mainly for incompetent people like me who shouldn't be let anywhere near a nut with a file...
