Charvel Inspired Strat or Strat Inspired Charvel?

I’m surprised you didn’t trim away the headstock side of the fretboard before gluing it down to make room for the locking nut. Is it because you might need some to bring it to the proper height?

This was scary. I snuck up on it and avoided routing to far into the head side of the existing nut slot.

I evened out the remainder with a sharp chisel and sanding block.

the bottom of the string slots are 1/16” above the fretboard currently. That is what I measured from a Jackson I have with the same kind of Floyd Rose.
This will work for now. Moving on...

Nice job on the nut-slot adventure!

(Edit) OK, easy for me to say. I looked around, looks like it takes either a $100 set of cutters, or a diamond grinding blade for a Dremel. I wish I had better news.

Funny, I've heard people talk about S/S frets as if they're not much different to work with than regular ones. Go figure.
