I think I’ll route it away similar to the was I thinned the headstock... though I might sand some first and save the dust.

Yeah, it should sit on a bit of that ebony...
stewmac used to sell a jig that butted up against the slot and guided a dremel IIRC.

This was scary. I snuck up on it and avoided routing to far into the head side of the existing nut slot.
I evened out the remainder with a sharp chisel and sanding block.
thumbs up I have some finessing to do especially with the transition.
the bottom of the string slots are 1/16” above the fretboard currently. That is what I measured from a Jackson I have with the same kind of Floyd Rose.
This will work for now. Moving on...

Hahahhaaa! Honestly, I’m scrounging for some at this point ... I’ve wrecked 2 nippers... and maybe if it was nice and warm out I would spend a couple hours grinding carefully but right now it is really unappetizing lol

(Edit) OK, easy for me to say. I looked around, looks like it takes either a $100 set of cutters, or a diamond grinding blade for a Dremel. I wish I had better news.
Funny, I've heard people talk about S/S frets as if they're not much different to work with than regular ones. Go figure.

I can see stainless for somebody playing a guitar for a living or somebody that plays 12 hours a day at home, but that's about it. As always, YMMV.
