I will never forget this guy especially in Midnight Run. He was hilarious and I loved his smirk and snarky remarks. Thanks for the entertainment Mr Grodin! RIP

He was really great and a fixture in the 70s/80s. Always a perfect everyman.

    RIP, Heartbreak Kid.

Charles Grodin kind of quietly built a very solid career as a film and television comic actor, writer, and interviewer. RIP, sir.

    RIP
His appearances on late night shows were always funny. Seems like he was on Letterman often, he had a great sense of humor.

they filmed part of Midnight Run in Clarkdale (where I live) whenever they weren`t working DeNiro hid in his trailer but Grodin would sit in a chair on the sidewalk and talk to everyone who wanted to say hello

Just read that Charles Grodin died yesterday at 86. Bone marrow cancer. One of my favorite actors.

Grodin was a great actor, and hilarious on late night talk shows. Midnight Run is often quoted in our house.

We were just in Arizona where much of it was filmed and ended up tracking down the former "Red's Corner Bar" and having a beer there. It all started with my wife seeing a sign for Flagstaff and saying "if you want your cigarettes back, you'll have to go to Flagstaff to get them." She started looking up filming locations for the movie and they were all around the area. Red's is now a brewery. The beer is was pretty good. The railroad tracks where they jump on the freight train was just across the street. It was pretty cool for a couple of movie geeks who really love that movie.

Oh no! My favorite role of his was in Midnight Run. He and DeNiro were a great team in that film.
