Looking for small tube amp for bluesy tones.

Currently playing an ac15 and thinking about moving my katana 50.

    What would you suggest?

I front my Valve Jr (no mods) with a Fender tube reverb, It has two valve Jr Eminence bottoms. I play bluesy stuff with that all day. Inexpensive amp.

    I had the champ 600
    It was awesome
I even did the full mercury magnetic a swap...but I don’t think that’s necessary actually because it sounded great out of the box

Joyo JTA-05 - A Champ-a-like, and rather good too. You may or may not want to add in the bypass capacitor.
    Laney Cub 8/Monoprice 5 - Champ-a-likes.
Vox AC4C1-10 - You may want to open the back up.

Special 6. Way better than the Epi. Had mine for years now since they first came out and still love it.

Champ 600 is a lot of fun, and promotes some great tele tones. I love that neck pup only with the tone knob spun right down to about 2 sound.

VHT Special 6 Ultra. A major step up from the S6 (check the additional features) and worth every penny. Buy it as a head and have fun with cab speakers.

I only play blues stuff these days.

Why do you need a smaller amp?

Which "AC15" model are you playing? I'm pretty sure it could give you some bluesy tones....

    Vox ac15c1.
It can get Bluesy, but I usually use that for surf. I just want a different tone, smaller, easily overdriven and not loud

A tweed champ clone with a 12" speaker. I got mine from Modern Sound Amps in North Carolina. Mike fixed me up with a clean/crunch switch for headroom adjustment and a bright cap switch for hummers or particularly dark pickups. I went with a ceramic speaker. Love it!

There is a video online when fender first introduced the La Cabronita teles...this guy plays slide through a champ and it sounds amazing! I’ll try and find the video or I’m sure someone here will post it but let me see...

I know it’s not the 600 in the video but you get the idea

    That was killer!
Can a champ 600 sound like that?
