Having acquired a mutt ‘77 telecaster, and also owning an ‘83 standard, it occurred to me that there isn’t a sub forum covering the CBS era of Fender ownership, with all its quirks and warts. As well, this era is now properly falling under the vintage flag (with prices to match!) so maybe a place where we can discuss, show off and otherwise communicate about this era of telecasters might be a good idea-what say ye, moderators and TDPRI members?

    Thanks,
    Franc Robert

Years ago, I posted on a different forum, “One of these days, Fender is going to start reissuing those CBS guitars and amps. If the my have any sense of irony, they’ll call it the ‘Not As Bad As You Remember’ Series.”

Lo and behold, there’s now ‘70’s reissue guitars and (updated) silverface amps.
I agree that there are some pretty great CBS-era guitars.
