Yeah, I saw someone selling a "mint" Gibson with a neck repair...
Any definition of "mint" would not include what happened to that Vibrolux. Pity.
Wha'??? Rebuilt cabinet, mods removed and a speaker different than the original (this is NOT a reissue!) isn't MINT??? Haha.
Props to Wally for getting "caveat emptor" into a thread title. That makes it the best thread title I've seen in a long while! And, of course, thanks for the warning about the Vibrolux.
Wally what are you doing scoping out amps in my territory? Lol. Just kidding.
Yes I saw that one too. Pity about it. There is a 1961 Brown Super around here too that has my attention. Hate paying retail tho. I've gotten spoiled.
I wondered about that, too. It's a long way from Lubbock to Vancouver!
There's a song in that.
I think a song was already done by a fellow Canadian.
"If you're really wonderin what I'm doin in your backyard..."
Mint means as it left the factory. There are no degrees of mint. As it left the factory.
I wonder what he intends the word to mean. Not a scratch? Original electronics? Brand new electronics?
I think it is not that uncommon these days for people to misapply superlatives. "Penultimate," for example is sometimes incorrectly used to indicate very high quality or level, when it actually means "next to last." Sorry for the diversion, but this is one thing that I am smart about, so, hey.
Absolutely mint, except for everything, which has all been changed.
one of my favorites that I see a lot on ebay is 100% original, expect for a body refin.
Did anyone lick it? Maybe he's referring to taste...
I assure you I will never use 'penultimate' incorrectly.
agogic accent on the penultimate note... the conductor IS the last bastion of totalitarianism (for Larry F)
Latin only impresses those who do not understand it.
I think you can have mint condition and you can have original condition but not original and mint together with those mods and priced like it never had them. Atsa no good!
So it's only in mint condition for the condition it's in.
That cabinet is certainly mint. The rest isn't of course...
