I need a wiring diagram for a Phoenix neck and a single coil bridge with a blend. Anyone done this.
I have the SD diagram for a 4 wire Humbucker but the colors are different.

Sorry @Rob DiStefano, I intended to tag you in that post. I see now I was pretty vague.

The guitar is a Tele Esquire I’m adding a neck pickup to.
The bridge pickup is a Holy Grail I got from you several years ago and I absolutely love it. I recently acquired the Phoenix used from another member on here, and want it in the neck position. The green/red wires are soldered together and appear to be grounded to the cover. There’s a black wire and a white wire that test like the coils.

I had in mind earlier to wire a 3-way with the 1st position to be the bridge and blend in the the neck pup. 2nd position all neck, no blend. 3rd position all neck with a cap.

Looking back now I don’t know if I’m ok with the idea of not having a tone pot. Any suggestions? What would ya’ll do? I have an assortment of pots on hand including a 250k no load.

Sorry my first language is not English but I think I answer your question. They talk about different wiring color to precision in the video above. Cheers and bravòt!

The first batch of Phoenix Firebirds used Gibson single conductor shielded leads, which is fine for these pickups going into real Gibson Firebird guitars as singles or any dual pickup guitars going in as doubles. That can present a problem with any single Firebird added to any guitar with a single coil as phasing issues can occur, so I began using 4 conductor leads where white and black are interchangeable as signal or ground and green/red are frame/cover grounds. For the last few years I'm using 2 conductor leads, white and black, also interchangeable for signal/ground leads.

The novelty of a neck blend in a dual coil/single coil guitar is just a novelty for me, I never found any advantage for tone or output. I'd rather wire it straight up with a 3-way, master 250k volume pot, master 250k no-load tone pot w/.010uf or .022uf cap.

Thanks Rob, I’m about over my novelty phase of late as well.

I’d pretty much decided on a standard Tele 3-way circuit but wasn’t completely sure if I’d benefit from a 1meg or 500k volume pot.

I like experimenting with wiring (I have a cool strat with a 4-way and a blender for example!), but it's really hard to beat standard tele wiring. The two pickups and two knobs have so many great sounds, and so few bad ones, that a setup without a tone knob just wouldn't work (for me at least).
The only truly useful mod (for me) I've come across is the 4-way for the extra series sound, that sounds great when used appropriately!

I use "250k" audio taper pots for all my pickups, and I always make the tone pot into a no-load with a .010-.015uf cap for a greater range of usable treble killing.
