He's got a new album out of Guy Clark material and he played a lot of it and some of his own stuff on ACL. Very cool. Anyone else catch this?

I think he's improving quite a bit as a guitarist, which is nice to see

We watched it at our house, and enjoyed it very much. Guy Clark was a favorite of ours, and we'd seen Steve Earle a couple years ago on the "LSD Tour" with Lucinda and Dwight. That was a great show, even with Lucinda being sick as a dog that day. Cool t-shirt, too.

I've seen Steve live a few times, and he soapboxes and swears too much for my liking.

But yeah that tour with Dwight and Lucinda , that would have been awesome to catch.

Did he do Guy Clark's "Home Grown Tomatoes"? I love that song.

I caught part of it and liked it. Pretty interesting Tele style axe he's got there.

The Mountain with Del McCourey is a great record but Del and his sons quit touring with him because of his potty mouth. I like that one and Guitar town. Saw him once and wished he woulda' saved his politics for someone who cared.

    Thanks for the heads up!
    I love the guy.
I saw him do a solo show at Antone’s here circa 1988.
    He was mesmerizing!

Yep. I love his songwriting and his singing, but my experience with seeing him live is that he gets in his own way

He opened the LSD show in San Francisco with a bluegrassy version of "I Know You Rider", in honor of that day's being Jerry Garcia's birthday. I grooved on that, and I've been working on my own version ever since.

I guess your local PBS doesn't choose to air it?
I would have figured all PBS stations were compelled to broadcast ACL. It's certainly popular enough
