So last night I was able to see The Reverend Horton Heat for the umpteenth time.
What made it special was the rest of the lineup.

Opening the show was the Delta Bombers, some damn fine rockabilly out of Vegas.
Next was the Voodoo Glow Skulls and their Ska punk music.
Then the Rev played and Big Sandy joined in during the set for a few numbers.

We need more bills like this! The crowd was a cross section of rednecks, greasers, rude boys, Betty's, pachuco's, punkers, chola's, and other misfits.

We heard rockabilly, Ska, punk, honky tonk, blues, and of course psychobilly.
    It worked so well.

Big Sandy is such a great singer and the set with Rev was fabulous. RJ Contreras is one of the best drummers out there.

First time seeing the Glow Skulls. Man, frenetic energy and killer horns.
I've caught the Bombers three times and they are getting really good.

Just thought I post a quick show review

Started in the pit, remembered I was too old:oops:

The balcony was GA as well as the floor. Since I was solo, I actually found a front row seat upstairs. Then I decided to venture back down on the floor for the last 20 minutes.

Old punks never die, we just stand in the back.

In December I saw The Rev with Big Sandy but with The Blasters and Junior Brown opening. It was a killer show. I particularly like The Blasters and Junior Brown myself but the Rev is nothing to complain about. Also it was the best the sound was ever set up for The Rev that I’ve seen.

That line up would be awesome as well. I did go to Austin and see the Rev with Flaco Jimenez, that was quite a treat.

They play around Texas so much they feel like the local bar band.
