By my count, we're up to 85 cats and 47 dogs. Is that right?

I personally haven't tried to keep up with the count of gerbils, turtles, fish, snakes, horses, wives and other critters hanging around y'alls houses. ;)

Man, Pete, I still feel a heaviness in my chest when I see that pic of Brat in your avatar. How ya doin'? BB, Billie & Nipper sure are fine felines. Great pics of them.

2 cats, an old one and a young one. The young one wants to play with the old one but the old one wishes the young one would just eff off.

Healing slowly. I haven't had many days yet, where I don't cry over Brat. We got his ashes back last weekend. Some day I know it won't hurt like this. But not today.

Thanks. He makes me sneeze every day but he's such a cool cat that I don't mind it that much.

When I was 2 my parents got a free Border Collie/mix mutt from a free ad in the paper. This dog died when I was 18 and it certainly was painful. My mom got another dog a few years ago but I have absolutely no emotional ties with this dog, and I don't think I'll ever own another dog.

My parents got this cat a year before that first dog died. I hated cats but this is the strangest cat personality wise and looking. Turned me into an instant cat lover, but I've never been able to find one that looks quite like her.

Interesting. Why don't you think you'll ever own another dog? Is it just the idea of avoiding the pain of loss, or is it something else?

And you've also piqued my curiosity with your comments about cats. You hated cats, not merely disliked them? But the cat your parents got turned you around 180 on that by looks and personality? The looks thing you've accounted for by attaching that pic, but what is the strange personality factor that changed you?

BTW, that *is* a great pic, and of a good looking cat.
