Carl Wilson is impossible to replace but I guess the Beach Boys have a good contender here...

Well, let's be honest, Christopher Cross might look like a sewage worker but who cares, that man can SING.

His first album is great with incredible guitar work. He is sorely under-rated as a guitarist. Being a big Beach Boys and Christopher Cross fan, I would think he would be a great addition.

He has some Beach Boys Bona Fides himself. In the '80s, Cross and Carl Wilson provided the backing vocals for David Lee Roth's cover of California Girls. In addition he appeared on a live show along with Tim Schmidt (eagles) and Bruce Johnston in one of Brian's early solo performances supporting his Imagination album.

Gotta love a Beach Boys live performance. Maybe it comes from playing those songs forever. But, they are one of the tightest live bands I've ever heard.

The Beach Boys have become the Beach Multitudes. They tour with their own Wrecking Crew now. Still one of the best live acts to see. Pretty timeless.

I love the Beach Boys, raised on that music, but I dislike Mike Love so much I can't bring myself to go see them. Luckily Brain and Al are going to bring the Smile tour to my town. I'm glad I got to see the Holland-era Beach Boys. One of the best concerts I ever went to.
