Looks like seismic business as usual to me...
Awesome, Virginia is for lovers. The Earth is going to do what it will, with literally zero permission from humans. Within the tiny miniscule world of human activity, think about the self-inflicted manmade disaster in 2020. My hope for 2021, is the damage done in 2020, doesn't last into 2022.
Scotch on the rocks, see it happen in front of your eyes!
It's a normal year by geological standards but an abnormal year by reporting standards.
Eruptions in places we don't care about don't make the news. Hawaii and the Caribbean and it's the apocalypse.
It's been going on a lot longer than we have.
Naw, just move along, be mindful of falling Debris as it may burn you alive.
What if the one under Jellystone National Park goes off?
It's a when not a what if. Kiss your Jellystones goodbye!
... or the Deccan traps..
Workin’ at the...you know...a*** probe factory...
Love that movie - Meg Ryan’s best IMHO.
Couldn't find one
This is the year of Velikovsky’s vindication!
That reminds me this quote from Jaws:
"Here lies the body of Mary Lee; died at the age of a hundred and three. For fifteen years she kept her virginity; not a bad record for this vicinity." - Quint
As a guy said to us in Puerto Vallarta back in the late 8os when trying to hustle some gal to us, “She’s a genuine ex-virgin”
Not necessarily, the USGS now says that chances are Yellowstone will never have another full-scale super volcanic eruption.
But what about Jellystone? Yogi & Boo Boo?
That guy had some weird name I've not heard for it, but I've lived on Grenada and sailed past Kick 'em Jenny when it was active. Pretty cool.
The volcano in the middle of Grenada is now a lake called Grand Etang. It's creepy to swim in. There are all kinds of stories about it being virtually bottomless. The water is fresh and has something of an other-wordly quality...unless it was my imagination.
I flew past the one in Monserrat when it was erupting...damned impressive.
Now that's something to worry about.
Yellowstone is not the only 'resting' supervolcano...
I know lots of people from Virginia
ain't nature just a trip!
