I was saddened last summer to find the fine French department store, Tar-G'et, no longer stocked my favorite cargo shorts. On with the hunt!

They'll be back this summer. I think cargo pants are coming back, I've been seeing a lot of bearded hipsters wearing them lately. Maybe it's ironic, but they still have to come from a store somewhere.

That's the problem with Tarjay. The French can be so fickle.

Noooo that would insinuate that cago pants are not cool if hipsters are wearing them(hipsters purposely wear stuff that isn’t cool,to be cool)
Cargo shorts NEVER lost their cool!

I think it's generally acknowledged that American men tend to dress like small boys. This is partly because being generally taller and often bigger than e.g. your European counterparts, it's harder to dress you sharply. That and there is also a dearth of good taste.

Cargo shorts are fine when you're watering the lawn. Less so when you're grocery shopping. If you're still wearing them at a restaurant and that restaurant does not have a drive-thru counter, maybe it's time to go buy some big-boy clothes.

No thanks, I think for this old boy, it's best to eschew British "dress."

The pockets are more than just functional. They give the shorts a nice balanced look imo.
Shorts without the cargo pockets look like they are missing something and that something is more pockets.

Cargo shorts are here to stay, If anything they will become even more popular with the push for people to use public transports etc. When using public transport you need additional storage capabilities for supplies, weapons to fend off the crazies etc.

I gave up caring what I wear many years ago. If I need to have a "look", Miz Diane will dress me appropriately. Otherwise, give me pockets. A murse is just another something to lose; I have a hard enough time keeping up with a hat and reading glasses.

I never really liked camo...until I found cargo shorts in the US Navy's blue camo. Now I have several pairs.
