Ten year old cargo shorts. Both seams blew out on the same day.
Kinda like when both power tubes go bad on the same gig. What are the odds?
Stuff just don't last like it used to.
I tore my favorite pair in Titusville Fla a few weeks ago climbing in a B-52 bomber cockpit at the Warbird museum. At least they went out doing something noble.
You ought burn them , sorta Viking funeral send off.
So sad to see old friends just go to pieces like that.

I had that happen, late last year.
I forgot to use a belt and the shorts legs each slid down another half inch over the last time I wore them - I had lost some weight. I squatted to pick up a piece of wood off the ground and both tore out.
In fairness, the area in the front was close to threadbare anyway.
I cut off all the cloth and still use them as before. Actually, I cut those "cargo" pockets off of there while I was at it. Don't need them and don't use them.
Whew ... I thought that we were talking about the Front & Rear
