Thnx!

The cf one sounds like a blanket is over it. Muted.
My friend has a Rainsong cut away, and I can say that from experience too.

I have a friend who owns two Rainsongs, one he keeps at his cabin at the lake, the other sits out on a stand in his living room. He also has several very very nice wood guitars (including one of mine) that he keeps in their cases with humidifiers. Different guitars for different purposes.

I’ve been interested in cf acoustics since Rainsong first started making them. I try one very couple of years. They keep improving steadily, but still nowhere near the sound I prefer—which is something with a wide frequency range with warm overtones. To me the overtones sound artificial and odd/unpleasant.

I can see wanting one if I traveled or was in a weird climate or played plugged in.

the wood is a good deal warmer/fuller to my ears, with the cf being relatively quite a bit more strident in the highs and lacking bottom end, again by comparison
both do sound good, but between the two I'd pick the sound of the wood every time, all day
