Car-Parts Guitars

    If you are in mid-Missouri driving along I-44, you can find custom guitars built by a man named Dave Quick. The necks on all of his guitars appear to be taken from assembly-line guitars, but the bodies have been modified or created from scratch. Most look like normal guitars, but some are built from car parts.

    The Rolla Antique Mall has three of his car-parts guitars for sale (see attachments). One antique store in Salem, MO, has his more standard guitars.

    Those look pretty cool. Makes me want to go see what I have laying around the garage.

    I see a hubcap but what are the other two?

    I don't think that's a hubcap. It looks more like an air filter cover.

    Yup. Air filter, muffler, and a valve cover from an outboard motor.
