    I, too, saw them at Panther Hall. A great boogie band for sure. If you couldn’t have fun at a Canned Heat show you didn’t have a pulse

    I have a very soft spot in my heart for a Gold Top with P-90s

    This thread launched me on hours of listening to canned heat. Saw them back then, at Woodstock and elsewhere. They were huge, a slow burning dose of low down soul. I'll forever miss Alan Wilson. His rhythm work was amazing.

    I went to school with Alan's younger brother. He invited me to their house one afternoon. There was a band practicing downstairs...he told me it was his brother's band...took me down to see them. I heard the singer and thought....HUH?
    About 1 month later, they broke onto the scene...sheeesh

    Amazing. I would have loved to be a fly on that basement wall.
