Canada eh!!!!

    That's interesting....I left mainstream radio a couple years back. Being from Toronto I always used to listen to the so called "Mighty Q" (Q107) classic rock, but unfortunately they keep on playing the same stuff every day. Now I'm as patriotic as they come, but quite honestly I don't want to hear another song from April Wine again. Nothing against the band whatsoever, they're very good, but hearing the same cuts day in day out just causes burn out. That's the programmers at Q107's fault though. For this reason I started searching out other stations and fell onto CBC Radio 2 in the mornings and afternoon's....they play a real mix bag of artists and genre's, especially acknowledging the Canadian Music scene. This is where I've been getting introduced to quite a few non-mainstream artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Serena Ryder, Sarah Slean, and Emm Gryner. This is also where I was introduced to some great American bands such as Wilco, The Black Keys, The Alabama Shakes, The Shinns etc.

    Check out CBC Radio 2....definitely a breath of fresh air in radio.

    PS They have a show that Randy Bachman hosts that is awesome....Randy has had some incredible experiences and he shares his stories

    I grew up with BTO, The Stampeders, April Wine, Lighthouse, etc. Good times...:cool:

    That's because Tom Power & Rich Terfry are both musicians and are allowed to select their own play lists. Totally refreshing vrs what Chorus Entertainment churns out.

    In addition to CBC Radio 2, check out CBC Music's concerts on demand (http://music.cbc.ca/#/concerts/?br=1&page=1&q=&genre=&f=)-- lots of new (& old) artists and material from all genres. I particularly like the recent Blue Rodeo (& friends) Silver Anniversary show!
