I can, but it doesn't sound quite the same as Lightfoot is Canadian and uses metric strumming. I've never deviated from imperial strumming.

The music world would be a much emptier space without Gordon Lightfoot.

greetings brookdale bill from canada, I have numerous screenshot angles of that blue jean vest and will be getting one made someday soon, complete with the yellow duck, birdie and yellow sun on the back. not that I'm worthy but Gordon would approve.

I usually use a 5/8” deep wall socket to play slide, but when I play a Sue Foley song, I use a 16mm

    I’m pretty fair.
My style is not that busy, but again I don’t play 12 string.

I got a great strumming right hand, it’s my stupid fingers on the left that mute and muffle all the wrong strings!

I can’t do anything music-wise as good as Gordon Lightfoot. Or anyone

I came back to playing maybe 12 o 13 years ago after a long hiatus and found that what I wanted to play worked best finger style. My strumming skills deteriorated. Lately, I've gone back to some of the music I covered in coffee houses while in college and found I need to strum. It's a real skill that must be worked on. I'm to the point where I can combine strumming and finger style in the same song. I keep working at it. I'm never satisfied with my playing but I keep working at it. I used to ignore strumming when I heard it, thinking it was the lazy way of playing. Far from it.

Yes I can. Now if I could sing and write songs as well as Gordan, then I would be something.

He has one of those voices that makes you think he was 55 years old in the early 70s.
