A friend gave me this. It's an Asian Jazz sort of bass. It's getting passed around to different friends who are learning bass. Any idea what it might be? It's real twangy sounding. I've got new strings coming and will set it up when they arrive.

I've seen them in pawnshops. They are inexpensive basses, and the only hint of a manufacturer is the "B" on the headstock.

The manufacturer is "BGuitars", maker of the equally . . . ummm . . . value-priced "Assasin" and "Viper" electric guitars. Googling for the following should give you Amazon pages that have pictures of them: "bguitars" amazon.com "out of stock"

Yeah, it's a cheap bass, do doubt, but it plays well and doesn't sound bad. I'll see what new strings does for it.

I found the P-version for around $100 on the webs. No sign of the Jazz version.
