(In my best Jeremy Clarkson impression)
"Tonight, a man with a cowboy hat plays a Gibson Gold top.
A long haired man plays an Alembic bass
and it takes two drummers to create the finest beat...
    ...in the world."

So who are the guys playing here?

right, so I gave you the rest...

it was kind of the melding of great southern and the Abros... a weird time... Dickey doesn't look too happy.

His name was David Goldflies, and they called him "Rook," as in rookie. He endorsed Guild basses when I worked for them doing artist relations. I signed him to an endorement contract.

My pleasure. David was a nice guy, besides being a good bass player. He had his endorsement photo taken in his old high school classroom, I believe. You can still find his Guild ads up on eBay if you look.

Saw The Allman Brothers in 1978 stood right in front of Betts and he played that goldtop.

Some of the sweetest best tones ever

When was this clip from? I think I saw that same lineup, or close to the same, at the Broome County Arena in Binghamton, NY in 1981 or 1982.

Ron, that sounds about right... I remember learning "Pegasus" around then and playing it with a friends band in Brooklyn of all places....

    I love that era AAB!
    Dan Toler is a bada$$. He's fantastic on Greg's "I'm No Angel" record ('86).

Betts said he was inspired by his young daughter to write Jessica as he followed her zig-zagging around the house. Listening to the song I can visualize his child careening and tumbling about the house.
