I tried again and failed. My computer downloaded some kind a scan program when I tried to download DIYLC that's what happened before at least now I remembered how to get the scan program off my mac. I downloaded the java no problem, no clue what or how to find the gatekeeper or change settings. Anyone have a link to download DIYLC without a bunch of baggage attached/unwanted programs?

    Hey Dave,
The magic is in that terminal command that @Dan Miller posted here: http://www.tdpri.com/threads/can-i-run-diylc-on-mac-mojave.888768/#post-8708055 this links to a page on Apple Stack Exchange, a question answer site. The actual fix is in the posting on Stack Exchange.

You’ll need to run that. You’re computer will require your admin password to make the change and then the program should run and you will no longer get the message that DIYLC is broken and should be dragged to the trash.

SUCCESS GOTit downloaded and working. lot of changes from older version I had. BTW my wife figured it out I failed………………..but she can’t run a table saw. Wonder if it all has to be redone with each upgrade? Seems apple is trying to prioritize their stuff APPLES with APPLES anyway thanks.

    A question

From what my wife read leaving the “anywhere” setting on in gatekeeper is not recommended. So if I change the setting back to “App Store and identified developers” will DYILC quit working? From the small bit she read it opens the door for viruses from corrupt apps. that would be a concern.

Oh, and yes, DIYLC does work after re-enabling the Gatekeeper security.

    I do love my Mac.

LOL — now that like four of us are running it on Mac, it seems like there must be tricks and tips on using the program. Any links or hints would be welcome.

TDPRI is not feeling well, I guess. Auto-duplicate posts.

Just to follow up on some points.

Yes, once you have DIYLC running, you can revert GateKeeper to Apple's default. DIYLC will be flagged as "safe" and continue to work.

When I upgraded from HS to Mojave, I had to reinstall the legacy Java, but messing with GateKeeper was not required (i.e. DIYLC was still flagged as "safe"0). I expect that if a new version of DIYLC is released, then GateKeeper will have to unlocked again. (Where's the KeyMaster? Shades of Ghost Busters!).

@King Fan, As I recall, I learned by downloading some of @robrob 's (most excellent) DIYLC layouts and experimenting with them - poke around and left click, right click, etc.
