Ordered it online from Music & Arts. $449 online. 15% off Presidents day sale and some "Product promotion discount" brought it down to $334!! Yes it's brand new. Sharp lookin' geeter. Love the Dark Cherry Metallic. The 5220's have the Blacktop Broadtron pickups. Pretty hot pups compared to my Tele with Keystones. I really like the bridge pickup. closer to a regular humbucker (with a little mid scoop) but still retains some of the jangle of a Filterton. The neck is a bit dark. Too boomy on the bottom end. The pickup was already set low, almost flush with the body. Can I lower the pole pieces on these? Both rows are adjustable, which one would I use??

Anyway, the fit and finish are superb! no flaws in the finish. Well built. It doesn't feel like a cheap guitar.
The neck feels great. No sharp fret ends. Comfortable to play. The guitar just feels right!

Gonna try tweaking the neck pickup some. Put on a new set of strings. Check out the electronics. Not
afraid to swap out the pots and switch if necessary.

Nice congrats that is a looker!
When I have a neck pickup that is a little muddy I roll the volume back a little and boost the treble somehow, either with an EQ pedal or an overdrive pedal with the gain turned down and the tone knob up.

Turning down the volume does help a bit. I wish it had tone controls for each pickup, instead it has two volume controls for each pup plus a master volume but only one tone knob.

That is one nice thing about Gibson style controls is you can roll the bridge tone back and leave the neck tone wide open.

I would (if it were me) maybe change one of those volume knobs so there were 2 tones and 1 volume.

I wouldn't have thought is was MiC if it wasn't printed on the back of the headstock!

    Yep. Already thinking about rewiring.

    Beautiful. Congratulations.

I got a Knilling fiddle from Music & Arts about ten years ago, never had a minute's trouble other than my lack of playing ability :D.

Thanks! When he told me the final price i said "you sure you got the right guitar??" Yep. "Brand new? no open box?" Yep.

No pressure store. Very helpful. Very different than the big stores.

Nice guitar! I have a hollow body and a solid body Electromatic; both are fantastic. I might end up changing the pots one day; although I can dial in great tones, they seem to have jumps in them, particularly up at the top of the volume, so it can be irregular during a gig. Otherwise, I'm happy as I can be. In reality, I don't need any other guitar, these do it all.

Those Gretsches are already super value for money, and you got a great deal on top of that. Enjoy it.
