I saw this at a house I was working on yesterday. Luckily I was working on a grey water line. The tenant showed me this and I was stunned. WTF is this thing? I NEVER want to take that thing up to auger the line

The homeowner has no clue about it as it came with the house BEA3926F-E859-428C-99F2-F9005278E815.jpeg
I’m sure replacing it with a normal toilet will be a nightmare

It's a Kohler, and the vintage is almost surely mid-1960's thru late-1970's.

Judging purely by the avocado green colour, and the 'K' stamped into the porcelain support structure there.

    :D

Weird! I thought they were all 12" or at minimum like 10".

I can't see how you'd replace that with what I'd consider a "normal" toilet unless you changed the laws of physics.

    I'm with @Wulf don't break it :)

thinking on it....i recall continental european bogs being like it...spain..portugal...they can block easily due to the narrower wastepipe...other than that i would leave it...and leave a box of Exlax in the bathroom to be safe...or syrup of figs

Looks like it has had some slide usage.

Normally I don't clean that well for just anybody. You must be special.:)

It’s not a Koehler. Koehler never had a discharge like that. The house was built in the early 90s
The rough out is definitely not 10”-12”. The discharge is 3”

I’m having the tenant take some more pix

    Ok I know nothing!
( I'm NOT 'handy', but I can be curious, try to learn...)

    What is 'rough-in', 'rough-out'?

( I was in the janitorial biz for 30 years, on the cleaning end of these things, as well as after construction/builders on properties- seems like another life/a lifetime ago!)

There’s nothing wrong with the toilet. It flushes with a vengeance. It ain’t broken so there’s no need to “fix” it

Chiogtr4x, I was auto corrected. A rough in is the distance the closet bend is from the wall

Handy setup for when the drain is too close to the wall (or, more likely, the wall is too close to the drain). I've had to deal with this a number of times - not easy. I wonder if you can still find something like this?

Maybe it’s a super rare 1956 Fender Krapper, designed by Leo, that’s what the K stands for.

yea.....homeowner needs to say small prayer every now and then that it never breaks. Tile floor would make the replacement job 100% more fun.
    I *believe* it's a model 72-Ug-ly.
    Matching sink and tub?
