The Tele can play anything: Polka, Latvian folk, tribal dance music. You name it, it can play it.
As for Metal, put it through the right amp, pedals, scoop the mids and watch it burn. (Disclaimer: not a metal fan)

Can't see any reason why not, assuming the right player. One example - John 5 plays metal (in Rob Zombie's band and formerly with David Lee Roth and Marilyn Manson).

Of course! My grampa cv bsb rawks metal really hard! I put in a single coil sized rail humbucker in the bridge though.

However, I used it in its stock form here:

Possibly, but it just shouldn't.

And before anyone takes offence (because some people aren't happy unless they're getting offended about something), he says wearily, I'm not being entirely serious. Play what you like and don't take yourself too seriously.

Although someone always will . . .

The best Metal I ever heard was played by a junkyard shredder when goofing-off workers dropped a metal filing cabinet stuffed with wire and a pink bowling ball into it.

Meaning, Why waste a fine musical instrument such as a Tele on the non-musical noise that is Metal?

At least Disco had lapels that could blanket small countries....

This reminds me of one of those Ultimate Guitar Forum things: "Will this guitar do Black Sabbath?" "Will this amp do Guns and Roses?" "This guitar does KISS pretty nicely", etc.

The equipment doesn't do anything.

Behind my beard.
Yes, but only if it has a rosewood fingerboard.

The maple fingerboard tone is too bright, and affects the amp's mid-scoop - throwing the EQ curve off by 10Hz or so.

:D
