Can a place/building/home be evil/tainted ? And if so - can it be redeemed ?

I love the Santa Barbara/Santa Ynez area, I don’t really mind the heavy, dark interior of the house, the grounds are pretty great , the idea of 2,700 acres is very appealing but - *shudders* I don’t know man ...

Is a place irredeemable ? Can you reverse super bad karma by subsequent owners living good lives, doing good things there ?

So - loving family buys it ? Charity buys it to help people ? Or - just bulldoze it ?

Or - Does it even matter ? Is it just a building(s) ?

Whatever happens, they lopped the price by $70,000,000...

I'd rather buy the Overlook Hotel.

I wrote a paper in college on the psychology of buildings specifically relating to “haunted” houses .

This is different but, there are some similarities.

Maybe Pete Townsend, Waddy Wachtel, Gary Glitter, and Jimmy Page want to throw down and buy it together.

When I was a kid my friends around the corner lived in a home a very, very famous quitted murderess had built following being found not guilty of killing her parents in the 1800s. It was (is, actually) a big spooky victorian home.

She had some of the best Halloween parties ever in that house.

A lot of well, crap, that needs to either maintained or torn down ( rides, train station, tracks, statues, etc.) and that costs money no matter what so that alone would be a no. The house really isn't all that special or unique. Developer needs to buy it and do something with the property.

Prior ownership or activity doesn't bother me. A place is a place is a place. I have an interest in historical archaeology and I'm interested in how areas of London, for example ,approach these issues. An old church is sold and developers wish to develop the land so they must remove the remains of graves. It must be a difficult task.

Rides are already gone , train station def needs to go, - I just think if Joe Schmoe had owned it before , instead of Michael Jackson it would have already sold.

The doc definitely is not going to help.

Its a bit creepy given the allegations that were made against him.

I'm not sure many parents would want their kids to go there even if Paris and Lady Gaga were able to buy it and turn it into an amusement park for sick children and children in need.

I agree. Did M.J. still have a mortgage on the place or any judgement liens against it?

On the subject of haunted houses. Seeing one ghost in actuality would do more for my faith in the afterlife than 300 TV preachers railing away all at once in the same place for twenty two days and fifteen minutes. Funny thing about ghosts and all the stuff written and filmed about them, the ghost appeared yesterday, or the day before but ain't here today! He might be coming back next week, but again, he's absent right now. EVERYBODY saw him, but unfortunately for the sake of our presentation, he's absent right now, stay tuned more to follow on Mr. Ghost.

Years ago we went to Hearst Castle a property along the coast line further north. It sits pretty much atop a hill and is really something to see. Of course since it's a state owned and operated property now, many of the treasures have ah, shall we say been appropriated. Still it's easy to imagine it's former glory. I would think Neverland will probably end up a state owned property, and anything worth a damn, will be, ah, appropriated.

Not haunted or evil, it's just stuff/things. But associated with bad actors and bad acts, definitely.

Somebody with way too much dough will dig the MJ association and buy it.
I know some of these guys...I bought Paul Newman's horse farm....I live in the same building as Keith Richards....my cousin is Peggy Fleming!!
A lot of really rich people have no notoriety...they like to try to grab some when they can.
