My name is Joe I’m 28 and have loved Pete Townshend for as long as I can remember. These are my PT records. I was hoping to find some fans out there. Post something about your favorite Townshend song and why you like it, be it The Who or his solo efforts. Your favorite gear or whatever else you want too.

PT and Ronnie Lane's album Rough Mix has been on heavy rotation for me since it came out. I can play most of the tunes on the album, and it never gets old for me. If I could ever get my hands on a synthesizer (and someone to drive it!) I'd love to try playing "Give Blood" sometime. One of the most arresting tunes I've heard.

I wasn't as big of a Tommy fan as some. I loved Who's Next and Quadrophenia more. And I also love a lot of the lesser known songs on Who Are You, Face Dances, It's Hard, Empty Glass and Chinese Eyes. Pete was a truly prolific songwriter with a fountain of never ending ideas. Also, Odds and Sods, because it's the only album with Naked Eye.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be Quadrophenia, probably my favorite album of all time. Odds and Sods is also great, I love put the money down and naked eye. A lot of people I know don’t like Face Dances but I enjoy that era of Pete’s songwriting. Great tunes

    PT is a favorite.
I was lucky enough to see the original Who back in the day. Those boys can play.

He is probably, no definitely my favorite songwriter. No need to get into individual songs. As a wantta be songwriter, I always found the Scoop Cds and the Lifehouse CD extremely enlightening and interesting, as well as almost everything else.

This is lately one of my favorite songs to play for fun on an acoustic.

He's brilliant and underrated imo as a songwriter. Pictures of Lily really captures what its like to be an innocent sex crazed preteen. All his early stuff has a subtly dark undercurrent to it. So much of his personality comes out in the songwriting. like a"A quick one while he's away." so ambitious and epic.

Very cool , often I like his Scooped demos better than The Who versions. It is really interesting to see how he worked and what the songs became. I don’t have many friend who are players so I always admired the Pete demos where he is doing everything himself

<----huge Pete Townshend fan. He's my original guitar hero. My very first concert was The Who in 1982. I also saw them in '89, '06 and '16. My wife bought us 19th row tickets right in front of PT for the show in 2016 in Chicago for my 47th birthday and it was awesome.

My first album was Who's Next, my second was PT's Empty Glass and my third album was Live at Leeds. IMO, not a bad trifecta of albums to start a music collection.
