How does one transfer a sound from Apple Voice Memos to this forum?
Thanks! I thought you were in jail... (kidding!!!) I can't play any of that stuff live. When recording, I have to do it again and again and again and again until I finally get something that sounds somewhat musical. It takes so long. There are guys here who play so well and can make any instrument sound great. There's good stuff being submitted here from you guys.
My suggestion is open a free Soundcloud account and post it there. Then click "share", copy and paste the link.
Hello all, this is the first song I've written in it's entirety. I told myself at the start of 22 I'd record a song by the time I'm 23 and that's a few days away. So with all this social distancing I took the time to record this demo.
Here's a little short tune I wrote years ago.
I play the rhythm and lead, and my son plays the bass and drums.
My son also mixed the tune.
You Make Me Feel Brand New
@Torren61 maybe you are too hard on yourself, sounds like you are no slouch.
I try to write and record whenever I have the time, which is rare these days. Here is one track that I am happy with, there are others on the site if anyone is interested.
I have posted these on other threads and all of them are pretty old. I have been away from home recording for a long time and am now trying to get my head around it again. But they are still representative enough of what I do.
Now, I am super stoked to go check out all the submissions before this. Great thread!
This is gonna sound silly so I'll blame it on the beer, but this makes you guys more "real" to me, lol. REALLY better stuff than I thought I'd hear.
I think this thread is genius. Nice job @Torren61 . Nice recording of the Godin in "Malinda". I'm just ramping up my recording chops, so this gives me a bunch of inspiration and incentive to complete a few projects enough to share. I have all of the basics down, so no excuses, but to get'r done.
I don't have anything recent and I have posted these before, but hey, you asked. Definitely amateur

this one is long and broody. More of a sound meditation type song. The guitar kicks in about midway.
Some nice stuff guys!
Oh, the thread is asking for three. Okay, here are two more of mine. Absolutely no virtuoso playing here, but...
The second link is my "main band"; the first one is a side project. I produced both tracks myself. Same drummer on both; on the first link, the drums were recorded with a 2-channel portable digital recorder at his house (kick and over mics). On the second link, the drums were recorded "properly" with 7 mics; however, I was having a problem getting the drum sound we wanted so all of his drum beats were replaced with samples. Effectively, his playing was triggering digital samples. It sounds smoother than the first link, but I prefer to raw sound even though it's imperfect. I've learned a ton of stuff over the past couple of years.
The guitars are all digital amp simulations.
this is the only original i got up there...
I haven't tried Soundcloud, but I used Youtube. Had to change the recording file type and pick a still image to complete the video, but wasn't too much trouble.
I like SoundCloud because it's so easy, and "free".
I also hear the Wishbone influence, that blend of Folk/rock and twin lead lines. Very enjoyable Torren61. I hope to listen to other contributions on the thread,as I love hearing new stuff.
I wrote this one a couple of months ago after getting the news my guitar playing son had lost two fingers on his left hand,so it was an emotionally charged time. The theme is one of hope and works well with the current world situation we have too.
