Just in case you forgot…..
I did forget! I was going to get up early and get some things out of my truck for my wife.
Wish I could...
Yep. Lost mom six years ago in August. Call your mom, or better yet visit.
Huh! I lost my Mom seven years ago in August and I was the age you are now.
Call your Moms!
Happy Mother’s Day, y’all!
Yep, mine has been gone for 10 years now.
If your mom is still around give her a call
Can't do it without a seance, and I'm not into those. I'll see her again though.
Gone since '96 - huge influence on me. She would have loved the internet.
Spoke to Mom this morning. She seemed well. Going up to see her and Dad next week, first time in 15 months.
My mom is long gone.
Just got off the phone with my grown daughter though. Wished her a happy Mother's Day.
She's making preparations for having guests over later for barbeque and swimming in the back yard pool.
Life is good for her down in Florida.
I texted every lady friend and Aunt I have on my phone a Happy Mother's Day and shouted aloud to my deceased Mother and Wife and want to wish every Mother on this Forum the Same!
No, and you can’t make me. I just made my last payment to my therapist. How about I call your mom instead?
wow - been a few years with just the wife celebrating mothers day, both our Mom's, gone.
so go CALL - or VISIT - while you can.
wish i had the chance to complain about visiting the folks again
no guilt there, ha
I visited the grave site last weekend and trimmed shrubs and planted flowers. I filled my mom, my grandparents on her side, and the half of my dad not somewhere in Canada with his second wife in on the news. I don't know why I do that, except I do. I find cemeteries disquieting. Hell is here all around us. I've experienced heaven a few times in my life, almost always in my travels. I think the closest I've come is 10,000' up around the back of the crater atop Haleakala with no one to be seen or heard. I've still got my wife. I asked her to scatter me on Haleakala when the time comes but she doesn't do well at 10K.
Happy Mother's Day to all you Momma's out there! Mine passed 5 years ago on her birthday! She was always a character. Remember to record your Mom with video or even record her voice on the phone!!!! Ask her silly questions about her past and record everything. You will find those recordings priceless later on. Have a good day folks!
Thanks for reminder, but I bought a nice flower arrangement yesterday for my mom, and one on behalf of my grandson for his mom (my daughter) since he lives in Austin. I'll take my daughter over to my mom's later today, with food. My mom's almost 96 years old, so I have to face facts that Mother's Day (or ANY day for that matter) could be her last. I've related stories here before on how incredibly supportive my mom's always been, especially in musical areas, that there's simply no way I can adequately express appreciation for what she's done for me.....but I "try" to let her know.
Best wishes to ALL mothers with any connection to TDPRI.
Dood! Record her on your phone or camera. I did when the family was all around and everyone was happy. I asked her tons of questions just like an interview. I made all the videos just one question and answer long. Then made another and then another. They are awesome. Each year I share another for Mother's Day with my family. Best wishes.
Reminded my daughter (something I have to do every year) to call her Mom and her step-mom.
Everyone is happy.
My mother raised me and my MIL took over the very day my own mom died. Both great women dearly missed. I do celebrate my wife’s and also my daughter’s special day. We’re having a cookout here later today.
I’m on an uncanny streak with Mrs Stubee. Her gift today was a new pair of Clark’s wedges that she terms “just perfect” and that makes the third pair of shoes and dress boots in a row that I’ve bought for her that she loves. I’d better quit now while I’m far, far ahead!
